Description

Made in the first quarter of the 20th Century, for a boardroom, college or townhall. It has a very institutional feel about it, and I like it very much. It certainly has a presence and trust me it would have cost a ‘shed load of money to make today’!

Having twin gun barrel turned supports at the trestle ends, with generous and stylish scrolled supports and a shaped frieze. I would suggest it is a good 12- 14 seater table.

With the depth of the  freeze, I would suggest that we raise the height slightly this, we would do by adding a small slither of wood at the bottom of the trestles,  I think an extra 10 or 15 mm would be about right. This would be done in our workshop, and you wouldn’t know we had done it.

We will put it through the workshop and make sure it is in good fettle.  There are some historical watermarks and ink marks on the top of the table one or two being quite pronounced. We could leave these, or we could work our magic and remove them depending on what look you are trying to achieve.
