As mirror back sideboards go (I’ve been in the trade for 45+ years), this is one of the finest quality ones I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning! The carving, the timber, the handles, everything about it is top drawer. It is a four-man lift, and I think that tells you everything about it! The quality bevelled mirrors, the figuring in the timber, the turned and fluted columns and beautifully carved panels. The cost to make it today would be thousands and thousands and thousands of pounds and that’s if you could even find somebody to make it… I can see it standing on a large wall, just by itself ….what a statement piece!
Please look at the pictures. It has one or two historical marks, which are in the varnish on the top surface, which for me I would just leave. It seems a pity to have to re-polish the top, but it is something we could do if you wished. Please contact us for more information.
We will check it over, wax it up and make sure everything is in ‘bob-on’ condition before it leaves our warehouse in Stafford.
